Let's find suitable housing for local veterans

Having been a member of this community since 1985, it’s been my pleasure to witness many changes,  much of which I believe makes Manhattan a wonderful place to live and raise our families.

Being a veteran myself I’m aware perhaps more acutely of problems they face finding safe affordable housing. Many don’t have retirements, some are partially or fully disabled and living on fixed incomes. I’ve personally seen firsthand veterans struggling to find and maintain such a basic need.

While I do think overall we do well here in Manhattan, I’d like to see our commissioners work toward addressing this growing concern of safe and affordable housing. I’m sure my fellow veterans would agree, we need to “Take Care of Our Soldiers.”

They served us, now it’s time we serve them! I think we can do better to come together working toward ensuring the needs of housing while also protecting the interests of homeowners and landlords alike. Working toward a better tomorrow, serving our community together.
